I want to wish you all Happy Women’s Day 2016. This is my first post to update you all with the status of this project. We secured grant for $20,000 thanks to generosity of Maharashtra Foundation and Seattle Maharashtra Mandal. We received disbursed amount from Maharashtra Foundation in February 2016 and have already started the work. As of March 5, 2016, we have 3 updates to report:
15 women of Saykheda village met in mid-February, in the presence of our on-the-ground partner NGO, Deendayal Trust representative.
Land lease (to install Mill machinery) is being discussed with the current landlord. We have requested long term lease to be in place before funds are released for Dal Mill installation to Deendayal Trust
Different vendors are being contacted to get competitive bids for the Dal Mill with installation and support.
