SoCCs and activities

November 2015 :

As a Project Director, on weekly basis, I work with Mr. Shashank Gautame & Mr. Vijay Kadre from Deendayal Trust to oversee how things are going on in the Borisinh village, keep the SoCCs passbooks up-to-date and also address any functional hurdles/issues they may have. But I felt that it would be nice to start calling and be in touch with the actual farmers who are real beneficiaries and also get a sense on what they feel about this whole new model? Understand the feasibility of the project and make changes in programs if required.November 2015 :

On November 5th 2015, I spoke with Mr. Bharat Bansod whose 21-year son Mr. Rahul Bansod is an active participant in our SoCCs activities. He was very happy to speak with me and said that it good to see his son participating in the program with a hope to have little better future rather than doing nothing and getting frustrated. Rahul is unmarried and youngest farmer in our team.

Few days later, I spoke with another Borisinh farmer Mr. Arvind Keskar who has 6 people in family to feed and cannot cultivate his 2 hectares land due to lack of access to water. As a 36-year-old father he was very worried for his kids. So he regularly sends his kids to after school program in hope that they will learn something new on the tablet SIF has provided. He is also eagerly waiting for phase 2 of the project which can solve water problem for his farmland.
